I'm interested in the intersection of philosophy, cognitive science, and AI ethics. Some programs I'm looking at are specifically interdisciplinary (like Philosophy Neuroscience Psychology at WashU, Logic and Philosophy of Science at UCI), while others would be a standard philosophy PhD where I just take courses in other departments. For anyone who's done an interdisciplinary PhD did it help or hurt on the job market? I worry that search committees in philosophy departments might not take an interdisciplinary degree as seriously. But imo the most interesting work is happening at these intersections right now.
