Stats undergrad here trying to figure out how competitive stats PhD programs actually are. My stats: GPA: 3.85 (math minor) GRE: 170Q/162V 1 summer REU in biostatistics no publications Am I competitive for top 20 programs? I keep hearing stats PhDs are getting more competitive because of the data science boom but idk how true that is. Also is it better to apply to stats departments or biostat departments? They seem to have pretty different vibes.
