Do GRE scores still matter for Fall 2027 apps? Applying this upcoming cycle and I'm seeing mixed signals. Some programs say "GRE optional" but then I hear from current students that basically everyone who got in submitted scores. Others have fully dropped it. I'm applying to stats/biostatistics programs. Is it worth the $220 and study time or should I focus that energy on other parts of my application? My quant background is strong (math major, 3.8 GPA) so it's not like I need the GRE to prove I can do math.
